Discharging a tank equipped with a cryogenic pump is complex and therefore requires:

  • an experienced operator
  • a mains connection
  • pre-cooling to start

Pressure differential

Maintaining a pressure differential when the level in the discharging tank is low is very time consuming without a pump.

As consequence, the products' quality may be compromised.

At constant atmospheric conditions, transferring liquid argon from the different types of containers, each filled at 50 % (+/- 6.000 Nm3) takes:

  • 2:20 with a differential pressure system
  • 1:10 with centrifugal pump
  • 30’ with the turbocontainer
